Sarah Louise (Huffman) Goodwin, 99, a lifetime resident of Spiceland, entered eternal rest on Mar. 28,2016 in New Castle. She was born Sept. 20,1916 to Charles and Myrtle Huffman, and was the fourth of six children. She graduated from Straughn High School and married her sweetheart, Harold Clifford Goodwin on November 29,1934. They welcomed their first son, Monte on May 10,1938 and their second son, Gary on March 1,1941.

Louise worked at RCA and Western Electric for a number of years and made a permanent residence in Spiceland area. She was an avid crafter her entire life, always sewing, crocheting, quilting, baking and more. She won countless sewing contests in the area and had a passion for making doll clothes, especially after the arrival of her great granddaughter, Ashley. Louise was a member of the Spiceland Friends Church for 61 years and held the honorary title of oldest living church member for a number of years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved animals and always made sure the local wildlife had a snack waiting for them in her yard. She was a wonderful spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt to her family and was a friendly face and steadfast friend to all who knew her. He smile was contagious and she lived her life with grace, faith and a loving demeanor.

Louise is survived by her sister, Ellen Charlton of New Castle; a son Monte (Irene) Goodwin of Knightstown; three grandsons, Bob (Robyn) Goodwin of Norman, OK, Randy Goodwin of Indianapolis and Mike Goodwin of Plant City, FL; two great-grandchildren, Ashley (Richard) Brand of Norman, OK and Brett Goodwin of Indianapolis.
