Thomas J. Davis, 78, 1113 S. Grant St., a native of Warren, Tenn. and a resident of Muncie most of his life, died early Thursday morning at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Davis retired six years ago after 22 years' service with Warner Gear Division and had previously worked for the Indiana and Michigan Electric Co., for 13 years. He had been in ill health for the last five years. He was a member of the Fairlawn Church of Christ, the Warner Gear Sympathy Club and the UAW-CIO Local 287
Survivors include his wife, Daisy E.; four sons, Raymond, Lloyd and Melvin, all of Muncie, and Ernest of Cambridge; a foster son, Donald Coulter, Muncie; a brother, Charles Davis, Muncie; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Meeks Mortuary with the Rev. Leo Swearington and the Rev. Byron Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Friday.
