Raymond C. (Duke) Davis, 74, 2405 S. Hackley St., died Thursday at Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in McMinnville, Tenn., and moved to Muncie as a boy with his parents, Tom and Daisy (Crouch) Davis. He attended Muncie Trade School. Mr. Davis was employed at Warner Gear Company for nearly 41 years and later, prior to his retirement, was employed at Boise Machine Company. He was a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club.
Surviving are his wife, Christine Allen Davis; a son, Donald Davis, with the Air Force; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sandra Carpenter, Muncie; a stepson, Paul Jordan, in California; two brothers, Lloyd Davis, Muncie, and Melvin Davis, in Florida; four stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with Billy Harris, minister of Fairlawn Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and before the services Saturday.
