Linda D. Cuevas, age 64, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen H. Maysey and Virginia Maysey; her grandparents, Owen Marshall Maysey and Pearl Marie Maysey and Perry and Daisey Shrewsberry; and her first cousin, Kathy Armes.
Linda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Earl J. Cuevas of Gulfport; her sibling, Greg (Sue) Maysey of Cloverport, KY; her sisters-in-law, Betty Ladner of Pass Christian and Marie Cuevas of Gulfport; her brother and sister-in-law, Nelson (Sue) Cuevas of Hawesville, KY; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was employed as a clerical supervisor with the Department of Human Services for 25 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlepoint. Linda was a loving surrogate mother to her nieces and nephews. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she devoted much of her time helping children with Bible study. Linda enjoyed cooking and entertaining at holiday times with family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church, Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
