Lucille Gerber, the daughter of William and Anna (Hostetler) Getzel, was born on December 13, 1919 in Belfast Twps., Murray County, MN. She grew up on the farm and attended country school.
Lucille as united in marriage to Charlie Gerber on April 6, 1938 in Slayton, MN. After their marriage they lived on a farm southwest of Fulda until they moved into Fulda in 1963. Lucille remained in their home after Charlie died in August of 1993.
In October of 2006 Lucille entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda and passed away there on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the age of 96.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda where she belonged to the Ladies Aid, was an Elder and a Sunday School Teacher. Lucille was also a past Fulda Mayoral Candidate. She enjoyed baking and watching TV.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Georgia (Chuck) Lursen of Fulda, MN and Linda (Kerry) Rae of Schertz, TX; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Donna) Getzel of Fulda, MN and 2 step-sisters, Adele Schindler of New Hope, VA and Patty Loosbrock of St. Killian, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Ellen McIntire, son, Roger Gerber, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Services, First Presbyterian Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2015 with Rev. Stephanie Husiman officiating. The organist is Norma Meyeraan. The soloist is Lloyd Winter. The pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
