FANNIE ALTIS ORR

Fannie Altis Orr was born in Jonesboro, Tenn., on July 24, 1884 the daughter of the late Robert and Maggie Mitchell Hilbert. She departed this life on September 2, 1972 following a brief illness, her age being 88 years, one month and eight days.
Many years ago while living in Austin, Tex. she was responsible for the organization of the LPNs in the state of Texas. She was also a charter member of the Cabool Christian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She had been a longtime Cabool resident with the exception of several years she spent in Texas. About six years ago she returned to this area. She was a friendly and helpful individual who will be missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving are her husband Clyde Orr, two daughters, Hazel Lashbrook and Beulah Whitaker both of Kansas City, Mo., two sons Chet E. Altis, Austin, Tex. and Elder Altis, Houston, Tex., a step daughter, Ailene Turner, Cabool, four half sisters, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Five children have also preceded her in death.
Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elliott-Gentry Chapel with Rev. Arch Bolerjack officiating. Burial was in the Altis Cemetery.
