MRS. ELI FORD PASSES

Mrs. Eli Ford, a highly respected resident of Lehigh for thirty years, passed away at her home on the east side of the river early Tuesday morning, death being due to stomach trouble. Mrs. Ford has been failing for the past several months and everything possible was done but to no avail and she peacefully passed away shortly after midnight Monday night.
Adelia Eglantine Sutton was born at Saybrook, Ashtabula county, Ohio, February 8, 1855, and passed away at her home in Lehigh, December 17, 1918, aged 63 years, 10 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Eli L. Ford, June 12, 1870. The deceased made her home in Ohio until she reached womanhood, later moving to New York where she remained about eleven years, then moving to Michigan and from there they moved to Lehigh, having resided in this place for the past thirty years.
To this union ten children were born, five boys and five girls, of whom eight are still living, one son, Robert, passing away at 8 months old, and Louis Ford, passing away at the age of 31 years. Those living are Frank, Elmer and Maynard Ford, Mrs. John W. Whaley, Mrs. Elmer Ward and Mrs. Wm Bryant, all of this place, Mrs. W. A. Beightol, of Clearfield, Minnesota, and Mrs. Wm. Ward, of Galesburg, Illinois. Mrs. Ford was a member of the church for the past thirty years and lived a good life. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and her death is mourned by a large circle of friends. She was a loving mother, a good neighbor and a true friend.
Funeral services were held from the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Claude Smithson, and the interment was made in the West Lawn Cemetery. The sincere sympathy of all is extended the bereaved relatives.
