Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, he was a member of Elgin Lion's Club and a board member of AAL #177. He was employed with Liberty Trucking and retired from Burren in 1981.
Survivors include his wife, LaVerne; daughters, Linda (William) Bailey and Karen (Mark) Rizzo both of Elgin; grandchildren, Niall and Kiel Bailey and Rebecca and Tony Rizzo; two sisters and two brothers in Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, the Lion's Club or St. Joseph Regional Cancer Care Center. For information, (847) 741-1128.
