Neaty Hedrick was the daughter of Jacob and Mariah Barbara (Darr) Hedrick, and the great-granddaughter of Rev. War hero, Capt. Johann Peter Hedrick. She had 3 brothers, George (1827-?), Jacob (1830-1896) and Michel (1839-?) and 1 sister Mariah B. (1834-?). She married Andrew Kepley on March , 1859. On July 16, 1862, Andrew enlisted with the Confederate Army and left for war. Neaty was left at home with their dauther, 2 year old, Elizbeth (1860-?) and seven months pregnant with their son, Andrew. Andrew H. was born on September 8, 1862. Nine days later his father was mortally wounded in the Battle of Sharpsburg in Bloody Lane. He died October 7, 1862. Neaty ran the family farm for several years until she married Jesse Hedrick (1815-1895), her 2nd cousin, in 1871. They had 1 son, Irenious Condor Hedrick.
