In about 1863 or 1864, Mary Elizabeth Horton gave birth to twin boys, Madison and Monroe Auld, sons of her third husband, Sherwood Ager Auld. They were born on the Auld farm near Downsville, but near the Ouachita Parish line. Monroe Auld died as a young boy, between 1864 and 1869. Madison Auld died in September 1869 of "disease of the brain." It is believed that he and his twin are buried in Drew Cemetery in Ouachita Parish, where many of their relatives are buried. Their graves are unmarked.
