Joel Eugene Allred, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2016.

Born February 27, 1942 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Joseph Dow and Jean Marie Anderson Allred.

Married the love of his life, Karen Taylor, on August 31, 1985.

Joel enjoyed the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with family and friends. He loved traveling anywhere he could shoot a gun or catch a fish.

Joel was a longtime employee and retired from O.C. Tanner.

Survived by children, Cheryle (Randall) Chatfield and Jolene ParDee; many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, brother, Lynn (Theresa); and Jean (Ray) Salazar. Preceded in death by his lovely wife, Karen, parents, brothers, Gary, and Bart; and sisters, Vickie, and Deena.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, with viewings to be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 and one hour prior to the funeral, both at the mortuary.
Interment will follow.
