Mr. Gurnie B. McKee, 72, of 641 Edgefield Road, died Sunday, June 26, 1994, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
The funeral will be at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City, with the Rev. Parker Bristoe officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. McKee, a native of Washington County, had lived in Sullivan County for 44 years. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Whitaker McKee; a son, Joseph McKee, Piney Flats; a daughter, Claudia Ratcliff, Augusta; a brother, Carl McKee, Jonesborough; three sisters, Marie Broyles, Piney Flats, Lorene Holsclaw and Betty Wiseman, both of Jonesborough; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Roy Broyles, Arlin Broyles, Ted Blevins, Robert King, Ira Wishart, Graham Hodges, Gene Musick and Danny McKee.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
