BROYLES, MARIE V. PINEY FLATS -- Marie V. Broyles, 80, of 257 Piney Flats Road, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, in Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Washington County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Roy B. and Lula Rebecca Payne McKee. She moved to Sullivan County in 1953 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Piney Flats United Methodist Church and the widow of Clive A. Broyles Sr. Surviving are six daughters, Joyce Combs of Bluff City, Jane Cross, Betty Lou Musick and Rose Mary King, all of Piney Flats, Beulah Fenbert of Memphis and Connie Hoss of Hampton; four sons, Charles "Chuck" Broyles of Johnson City, Bill Broyles, Roy Broyles and Clive A. "Brogie" Broyles Jr., all of Piney Flats; two sisters, Lorene Holtsclaw of Limestone and Betty Jo Wiseman of Jonesborough; a brother, Carl McKee of Jonesborough; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in Morris-Baker South Chapel in Johnson City. The Rev. Mack Houston and the Rev. Carol Wilson will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Shell Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. and proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David F. Moulton, Dr. Paul Brown, nurses and staff of Johnson City Internal Medicine, nursing staff of Johnson City Medical Center, Phil Clark and Tom Clandros. Mrs. Broyles was preceded in death by two brothers. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
