Audie and Algernon. This darn cat, Algernon, was the best thing that ever happened to me! Unfortunately, I didn't clean her teeth every year. Consequently, at age 15, she passed away because of it. She developed a bacterial infection that took away part of the roof of her mouth. (Conclusion: see your dentist for your own teeth on a regular basis and have your pets teeth cleaned annually!)

Audie's "babies"! Sylvestor when he weighed about 18 pounds, Whiskers, who was Algernon's granddaughter and my beloved Algernon (the beauty queen and social snob!) All three of them look like beached whales in this photo; they look so healthy and happy!

Algernon living in the fleabag apartment Gina and I shared in Pasadena in 1986-87 for a couple of years. Those were happy times; we just didn't know it at the time!!

My best friend, the late Gina, who recently passed on just adored cats and spent many, many years with Algernon and I can remember her hilarious stories about how "snooty" she thought Algernon was!
