They moved to Indiana about 1816 where they knew young Abe Lincoln (in Spencer County).
In 1826 he and brother Martin were in Adams Co, IL (just above St. Louis) where they signed a petition (might have been working on the river there).
He moved to NW Illinois to the lead mine region of Jo Daviess County where he enlisted in the Black Hawk War (1831-32).
In 1832-3 he married Anna ? in Jo Daviess Co (or possibly Union Co, IL)
A history of Jo Daviess County says that Henry settled in Guilford twp about 1832. Since he was in the 1830 census, maybe he married and "settled" in 1832. Since the first settlements in the township were in 1826, he was one of the earliest settlers.
He was in the 1830 and 1840 census of the "Lead mine region."
He was 8 houses away from Solomon Greer, who married Ann Lindsey, sister of Henry's brother Martin's wife, Mary. Solomon's brother Ephriam Greer married Henry's sister, Margaret Willard.
In 1849 he bought 160 acres in Guilford township of Jo Daviess Co, east of Galena.
He and Annie were still alive and living there in 1880.
