George W. Finkenbinder, 77, of 1505 Spring Road, died last evening at the Hershey Medical Center.

He was born in Carlisle on Nov. 1, 1894 the son of the late Benjamin and Olive Bear Finkenbinder. He was the widower of Olive Paxton Finkenbinder and Mary Zeigler Finkenbinder.

He was owner and operator of the Motel Carlisle from 1949 to 1964 and previously was engaged in farming and was a livestock dealer.

He was a member of the Carlisle Fish and Game Assn.

He is survived by 4 sons, Wayne D., Williams Lake, B.C.; Paul H., RD2 Newville; Ralph W., RD6 Carlisle; and George E., RD1 Shippensburg; 3 daughters, Mrs. Alma Barkley, La Jolla, Calif.; Mrs. Martha Nornhold, RD2 Carlisle; and Mrs. Mary Kretzing, New Kingstown; 2 step-sons James Durwin, Parkesburg, Pa. and John L. Durwin, RD1 Carlisle; a stepdaughter Mrs. Joyce Peffer, RD1; a brother, Roy Finkenbinder, Wyoming, Iowa; 25 grandchildren and 2 great- (NOTE: Typed as in newspaper)

The funeral service will be held at 2 Friday from the Hoffman Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., with the Rev. Robert E. Strock officiating. Burial will be in Kutz's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
