Jacob Moore Craft was a Corporal in Co. K, 57th Infantry, Virginia Volunteers, Confederate States Army.

He built St. Jacobs Lutheran Church; gave the land on which it was built and also donated the pump organ.

He married Amanda Esther Matheny on October 16, 1873 in Springwood, Botetourt County, Virginia.
