Samuel Senft, 74, retired farmer and well-known resident of Borough, dies following long illness: Spring Grove, July 15 - Samuel Senft, a retired farmer and a highly respected citizen of this place, died at his home at 2 o'clock this afternoon, from complications of diseases following an illness of five years. He was aged 74 years, one month, and 28 days. He had been confined to bed the last five months. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Amanda Senft, are six children, Mrs. Paul Stambaugh, Charles and Jacob Senft, York; Mrs. Charles Stambaugh and Mrs. Annie Miller, this place; and Mrs. George Baer, Iron, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Kindig, Pleasureville; and Mrs. Jesse Williams, York; and four brothers, Joseph and Jacob Senft, York; Jeremiah and Nathan Senft, this place. The funeral will be held Thursday, with services at the house at 9:30a.m., and concluding services at St. Peter's (Lischey's) church. Rev. Fred S. Geesey and Rev. J.N. Faust will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Funeral Director's G.W. Santer and Son, Menges Mills, have charge of the arrangements.
