His father was Aaron Eliot of Killington; physician, Revolutionary War colonel and member of the General Assembly of Connecticut for nine terms. His mother was Mary Worthington. They married 14 February 1745.

This Aaron, their son settled in Ste. Genevieve before 1810. He was the husband of Gloriana Austin. It was once thought he died in Ste. Gen; but this has been disproved. Quite few members of this family were reinterred in Bellefontaine Cemetery, as he was.
