PRICE-Gwen Heaton Adams, age 95, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Heirloom Inn in Price.

She was born August 26, 1920 in Orderville, Utah to William Carroll and Clarissa Hoyt Heaton. Married Floyd G. Adams, October 10, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming; he died November 7, 1989. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.

Gwen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was active in the Relief Society. She attended and graduated from Dixie and BYU with her degree in education. Shortly after her schooling, she put her talents to work in caring for the wonderful patients at the doctor offices of Wright, Gorishek and Morgan. Her career spanned many generations and she made a huge impact on everyone. Gwen worked tirelessly for Dr. Max G. Morgan until her 80th birthday and she was extremely proud of the fact that she never missed a days work.

Gwen was happiest while caring for others, enjoying the family outings at the cabin in Joe’s Valley or opening her home to anyone in need. She touched the lives of many and was “Gram” to all that knew and loved her. Some of her favorite pastimes included volunteering at the Senior Center, crocheting and finding anything to keep her busy. Her generosity and service to her community will never be forgotten.

Survivors include her sons, Bill (Gaylene) Adams, Tom (Ann Marie) Adams, both of Price, Bobby (Elaine) Howard, Sequim, WA; one brother and two sisters, Dale (Lyn) Heaton, Madeline Tait, LuJean (Dell) Spenser, all of St. George; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; daughter, Boni Adams Nichols; brother, Reo; sisters, Mary, Helen and Lovina.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gwen’s caregiver Joann Manzanares, the staff at the Heirloom Inn and Symbii Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral service, Tuesday, January 12, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Price North Stake Center, (449 North 100 East) in Price. Family will receive friends at the church Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery under the trusted care of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
