Funeral services for Mr. Joe Henry Boyd, 77, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from the chapel of Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Wendell Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Boyd Cemetery- Salem.
Mr. Boyd, a resident of Petal, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. He was born October 18, 1938 in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Alton Parker and Lexie Viola Martin Boyd.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his significant other Peggy Parker; ex-wife Pearlene Nobles Boyd; children Jerry and Jeanette Boyd; grandson Joe Wigley; and brother Louis Boyd.
He was a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church, had served in the United States Air Force and had been a parts man for auto parts retailers Mr. Boyd was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his son David Boyd of Petal; daughters Melanie Martin (Sam Roberts) of Petal, and Cheryl Robinson (Dock Robinson) of Beaumont; brothers Buel (Polly) Boyd and Glyn (Amanda) Boyd; sister-in-law Ann Boyd; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bo Clark, Joseph Wigley III, Jeff Hillhouse, Chris Roberts, Austen McWhorter, and Alex Boyd.
