Charles Dean "Cheese" Royer, 68, of Red Lion, died at 1:44 a.m. Monday at Hershey Medical Center.

The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Visitations will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home Inc., Dallastown, and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Royer was born June 22, 1931, in Red Lion. He was the son of the late Paul M. and Mary Teresa (Sterner) Royer.

He was an assembler at the former Williams Tool and Machine Co., retiring after several years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown and American Legion Post 605 in Dallastown; he was a 1949 graduate of Red Lion High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Royer is survived by two sons, Charles D. Royer Jr. and Joseph P. Royer, both of York; a grandson; a brother, Timothy Royer of Brogue; and three sisters, Patricia Mellinger of Red Lion, and Marilyn Reisinger and Rose M. Wagman, both of Dallastown.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert Panza.
