John was the son of Arthur H. Loe and Mary I Rintz (Rentz)Loe, born in the Liberty Hill area of Bienville Parish, Louisiana. He married twice. First to Mary Francis "Mollie" Murphy on July 23, 1881. They had 12 children:
1) Seymour Alexander 2) Mary Marilla 3) Martin H. 4) Mollie E. "Mattie" 5) Charles William 6) Lizzie J. (V) 7) Bertha F. 8) Etta O. 9) Lloyd P. 10) Bertha M. 11) William Edward and 12) Bessie B. Loe.
After Mollie's death, John married again,to Ludie Katherine Nix, on November 26, 1899 at Mt. Zion Church near Vernon,Jackson Parish, Louisiana (by Elder S.A.W. Jones). They were the parents of 5 children:
1) John Tom 2) Mary Lou 3) James Weldon 4) Winston Woodrow and 5) Effie Dee Loe.
Many of these children are buried in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. Mostly Antioch, some in Sweetwater.
I am unable to list John's first wife Mollie as she was buried in the original graveyard at Liberty Hill. (I was told Tornado damage caused stone mix ups and demolition- causing no new burials in the original cemetery.)
