Besie McKinley Kerr, 98, passed away June 30, 2000. Born in Hot Springs, AR, October 7, 1901. Bess was the second of five children and was preceded in death by Herbert McKinley, Nell Smith, Grace Zink, and Ruby Story.
In 1923, Bess married Lon Kerr and lived many years in El Reno. They owned and managed a hotel and family-style restaurant that was professed to be the best food in town. In 1959, she moved to Oklahoma City
and later married Rueben Cole. Although Bess had no children, she was a
devoted aunt and helped raise and nurture many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, at the El Reno
Cemetery.
