Shirley Ann Schmidt, 80, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at BAMC in Marinette. She was born in Marinette, Wis. on December 2, 1935, to the late Adolph and Gladys (McVaine) Stauber. Shirley graduated from Marinette High School class of 1955. She married August Schmidt in June of 1978. He preceded her in death in May of 1991. Shirley worked for the Johnson Company in Milwaukee, Wis. as an Inventory Clerk. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shooting pool and putting puzzles together. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by two sons: Stuart Truesdell of Marinette, Wis. and David (Renee LaCombe) Truesdell of Menominee, Mich.; ten grandchildren including: Nathan, Taylor (fiance’ Matt Cooper) and future great-grandson, Austin, Wynter, Megan, Zoey, Mindy, Jenny, Josh and Michelle; one brother, John (Judy) Stauber of Marinette, Wis; two nephews: Michael and Mark; her canine pal, “Bridgette”; her feline buddy, “Snuggles”; and other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two sons: infant Nathan and Kevin Truesdell; one sister, Germaine Fisher and two brothers: Eugene Fisher and Edward Fisher. Visitation will take place at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow and celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Shirley Ann Schmidt, at 6 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQusten presiding. Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery in Menominee. The Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family. (Marinette-Menominee Eagle Herald, February 29, 2016)
