David L. Brittingham passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois at 3:12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He was 69 years old.

His parents were Vera (Adams) Brittingham and Floyd Brittingham. He was born on November 21, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from Costa High School in Galesburg, Illinois. He wed Karen Owens on August 21, 1975 in Galesburg, Illinois.

He had worked at the Gale Products facility in Galesburg, Illinois, the City of Knoxville, Illinois, and he owned and operated Britt's Lawn Service.

His hobbies were trap shooting, following the local (Galesburg and Knoxville) High School's basketball programs, going to various auctions, hunting and following drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Galesburg, one son, Chad Brittingham of Belle Haven, VA, and one daughter, Staci Brittingham of Galesburg, IL. Also surviving are one sister, Vivian (Robert) Cooley of Galesburg. and three grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Delores Henry, and one brother, Gene Brittingham.

At a later date, a celebration of life will be held. Assisting the family is the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, IL where memorials may be made to the family.
