Mrs Howard (Ethel Mayer) Johnson, 71, of Marion, died Tuesday at 3 p. m. in Marion General Hospital of coronary thrombosis.
She was born in Henry county, June 10, 1887, a daughter of James and Lillian Games Taylor. She and her first husband, Fred Mayer, to whom she was married in 1917, spent most of their married life in Lewistown, where she was a member of the Methodist church. He was fatally injured in an automobile accident in 1940.
Surviving with Mr. Johnson, to whom she was married in 1946, are a daughter, Mrs Elmer Berry, Richwood, and a son Delmar Mayer, Marion, six grandchildren, two step daughters, a step-son and 13 step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Central Methodist church in Richwood in charge of Rev Albert Kuntzman. Burial will be made in Claiborne cemetery.

She was married to Howard Johnson October 4, 1946. Surviving is the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Berry, of Richwood, and a son, Delmar Mayer, of Marion. A daughter, Doris Shumaker preceded her in death. A sister, Mrs. Ruth Merriman, of Richwood, is also deceased. She also leaves six grand-children, Mrs. Rose Haines, Alexandria, Va.; Shirley and Robert Berry, Richwood; Raymond Shumaker and Fred and Wayne Mayer, Marion, and two step-daughters, Mrs. James Jenkins,Marion and Mrs .Gale Livingston, Route 2, Lexington, Ohio; a step-son, Donald Johnson, Marion; 13 step grandchildren and 16 step-great grand children. Funeral services will be held 2 pm.in Methodist Friday afternoon at Richwood Central Methodist Church, Rev. K.A. Kuntzman officiating. Burial in charge of Marion Winter will be made in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Friday.
