Lillian's parents were from England. By 1880 they and her three oldest siblings had moved to Nova Scotia, residing in several communities including Annapolis, Kentville and Halifax. By 1888 they had moved to Portland, Maine, where Lillian was born and finally by 1892 to Lawrence, MA.
Lillian and Daniel were married in Lawrence on Nov. 28, 1906. Sadly, in 1908 their first child died. By the 1910 Federal Census the family was still living in Lawrence, with a new daughter Alice and Daniel's brother Michael, who had just recently arrived. Their stay was short-lived though, as their next child was born in Margaree, Inverness county, Nova Scotia. In that area they remained for the remainder of their lives.
