Guy owned and operated McPherson's Hauling Service until his retirement in 1971. He also owned a fruit ranch, McPherson's Department Store and Hardware Store in Selah.
He was a city councilman for 15 years, and a member of the Nazarene Church, playing an important part in the design and building of the Selah Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the church board at the time of his death.
Mr. McPherson continued to work part-time for Owen's Trucking Service in Selah as a dispatcher after his retirement.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 14, with the Reverends Paul MacLearn and DeWitt McAbee of the Selah Church of the the Nazarene officiating. Interment followed at Tahoma Cemetery.
