Aldy, Hampton   June 11, 1959 Jackson Independent

Funeral services for Hampton E. Aldy, age 70, drowning victim was held at the Jonesboro Church of Nazarene at 3 p.m. Wednesday with interment following in the Antioch cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Aldy lost his life while fishing with his son, Roy Aldy on Tensas River late Friday night. The man drowned when his boat capsized while the two were setting a trot line. His body was found after six hours of dragging operations.

Mr. Aldy, a lifelong resident of Jackson Parish is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mae Aldy of Jonesboro; daughters, Mrs. Pauline Turner of Crowley; Mrs. Delores Jones of Yakima, WA.; and Mrs. Urie Shubert of Pine Bluff, Ark.; six sons, Chester, Charles and Roy Aldy all of Jonesboro; Oren Aldy of Crowder, Miss.; and Stanley Aldy of Pine Bluff, Ark; five sisters, Mrs. Sally Whitman of Hodge; Mrs. Ode Norred of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Maize Watts of Oak Grove; Mrs. Pinkey Porter of Hodge and Mrs. Mattie Cotton of Monroe; five brothers, Joe Aldy of Goldonna, Texas; Griffin Aldy of Quitman; Robert Aldy of Jonesboro; Lonny Aldy of Chatham, and Virgil Aldy of Yakima, WA; 37 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren
