Dorothy May Wurtz, 75 of Casper passed away on October 8, 2015. She was born on May 15, 1940 to Ollie F. Wurtz and Alice E. (Smith) Wurtz in Pleasanton, Kansas.
Dorothy was briefly married to Frank Martinez. They had one son, Joe Ray Martinez.
On October 29, 1957 she married Leonard “Joe” Bright, with whom she had two sons, Leonard and Doug Bright and one daughter, Sheila Bright. They were divorced in 1975.
Dorothy received her GED in 1979. In the spring of 1980 she received a certificate for degree for office communications form Chemeketa Community College in Oregon.
Dorothy attended Highland Park Community Church weekly and enjoyed lunch at the Casper Senior Citizen Center regularly.
Dorothy enjoyed bargain hunting at the various thrift shops in town. She especially enjoyed finding clocks that she could tinker with and get running again. She collected mirrors of all shapes and sizes. She had a knack for growing plants and flowers. She loved to decorate her house for the holidays.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Joe R. Martinez and Leonard J. Bright and one daughter, Sheila Bright. She is also survived by six grandsons, Eddie Aispuro, Ted Rubeck, Mike, Keven, Jason and Kyle Martinez; and one granddaughter, Nicole Rubeck; and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving Dorothy is one sister, Doris Hess; five brothers, David, Dale, Dean, Dennis, and Duane Wurtz; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Danny and Dairld Wurtz; and one son, Doug Bright.
Services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Bustard’s Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the Casper Seniors Citizen Center at 3:00 p.m.
