April 22, 1929 - May 13, 2005

Mrs. Lucy Hollifield Earley, age 76, of Marion, N.C., passed away Friday, May 13, 2005 in Marion. She was born April 22, 1929 to the late Charlie H. Hollifield and Dessie Huskins Hollifield.

Mrs. Earley retired from Coats American after serving for over 40 years.

She was called as a devoted and faithful minister's wife having been married for over 56 years to the late Reverend Clifford Earley.

She loved and was loved by her entire family.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Marion.

Mrs. Earley leaves behind two children, Sandra McKinney, daughter and husband Oscar, and Demona Grindstaff, daughter and husband Michael both of Marion. Also surviving her are two grandchildren, Kandace Duckworth of Morganton, and Kevin McKinney of Marion; one great-grandchild, Dakota Duckworth of Morganton; one sister Louise Haynes of Marion; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Marion with Dr. Scott Hagaman and Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating.

Burial will be in Turkey Cove Cemetery.
