Early Life: Dean was born April 5, 1924, in Goshen, Idaho, to Willard and Rebecca Amundson Monson. He graduated from Shelley High School in Idaho and attended Ricks College.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He joined the United States Army and served in Italy from 1943 to 1945 with the storied 10th Mountain Division as a Ski Trooper. He rose to the rank of Corporal. On his return to civilian life, Dean began his long-time career with Garrett Freightlines in Idaho Falls, Idaho, eventually serving as the Terminal Manager. Dean Reed Monson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, with his wife, Barbara, at his side.
Survived By: His wife, Barbara Clark Holloway Monson.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; his first wife, Barbara Helen Monson; his second wife, Agnes Elizabeth Monson; and the following sons and daughters: Tommy Dean Monson, Bonnie Ann Monson Walton Caverhill, and Margaret Mae Monson.
