Info provided by FAG contributor S.R.F.: His first wife, Sylvia, died in 1939; On 14 May 1949, in Delaware County, Indiana, he remarried to Lillian Deal Parker, the widow of Ernest Hubert Hiatt, who died in 1945. Lillian died in 1951.

Henry C. Lorton Sr., 72, died suddenly Saturday morning. He was a lifelong resident of Henry County and had been a farmer, residing on the New Lisbon Road until four years ago when he moved to New Castle. Mr. Lorton was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Deo Cross of Spiceland, Mrs. Kenneth Knowles of Hudson, Florida, Mrs. Joseph Stohler of New Castle,Norma Ruth Lorton of Butlerville, Mrs. Ralph Atkinson of Indianapolis and Mrs. William Burk of Richmond; five sons, Archie of Lovell, Maine, Lowell of Dayton, Ralph of Richmond, Loring of New Castle and Henry Jr. of New Castle; and two sisters, Elizabeth Forkner and Mrs. Earl Jackson.

Funeral services were held Monday in New Castle. Burial was in Southmound Cemetery.
