THOMAS LORTON
Thomas Lorton, age 80, a veteran of the Civil war and a lifelong resident of Henry county, died at the home of his son, Henry Lorton, four miles west of Newcastle, Tuesday night at 8:30 o'clock after a long illness.
He had been in declining health for the past five years and had been in a serious condition from Bright's disease and heart trouble for the past six weeks. The widow and seven children, Mrs. Otto Boyer of Newcastle, Mrs. Charles Forkner and Mrs. Guy Dohannan of Hagerstown, Mrs. Earl Jackson of Richmond and Henry, Frank and William Lorton of Newcastle, survive.
The funeral will be held at the Henry Lorton home Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will take place at Southmound.
