Franklin "Craven" Burnett was the son of John Henry Burnett and Louisa Catherine (Hobson) Burnett. Craven was born about 8 miles west of Licking, MO in Lynch township on a farm that his grandparents John and Mary (Yowell) Burnett homesteaded in 1857. The farm was known as the Burnett Spring farm. There was a spring on their farm that was called Burnett Spring, the spring flowed into the Big Piney river. The Burnett Cemetery is also on that farm. Craven's father, John Henry Burnett, also grew up on the Burnett Spring farm.

April 18, 1914 Craven Burnett married Ellen "Ella" Genevra Deason. November 1920 Craven Burnett's household goods were sold at public auction in Licking, MO he was preparing to go to Fellows, CA to work in the oil fields. Craven and Ella lived about 8 years in Fellows, CA. In 1924 while living in California they purchased the Pruett farm in Licking, MO. They moved back to Licking, MO in 1927 and lived there the remainder of their life on the farm they purchased in 1924.

Craven and Ella Burnett had six children; Ruth, Ada, Maxine, Gean, Catherine and Frankie Lee.

Craven Burnett died in the Waynesville Hospital in Waynesville, Pulaski Co., MO.
