Isaac Knight Dalby was the son of Thomas D Dalby and Martha Hickerson Dalby. They came to Texas in 1839 and settled in Cherokee County, Texas. I K Dalby joined the Confederate Army as a Private in the 28th Regiment Texas Cavalry (Randal's 1st Texas Lancers) Company B. He ranked out as a Second Lieutenant.
