Nancy was born near Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina where her family lived during the Revolutionary War. Her father, Francis entered the militia on October 16, 1775. Her parents married on 19 Sept. 1775 but there is no existing record. Nancy was the fourth child born and by 1800 the family lived in Pendleton District in South Carolina. In 1805 the family was in Roane County, TN. It is believed that Nancy married William "Billy" Lee about 1802 while in Roane County but no record has been found. William and Nancy traveled to Alabama and William died in 1815. Nancy travels to Henderson County, KY where her parents live. In 1820 they all lived in White County, IL. They end up in Greene County, IL and on March 24, 1826 Nancy marries Isaac Taylor who dies in 1841. In 1850 Nancy is on the Macoupin Co.census with her daughter. By 1860 she lives in Shelby County and in 1870 she lives with her daughter Jane and family in Shelby County. In the 1879 Greene County, Ill. history book in a bio on Archibald Lee wherein it states that his mother, Nancy died 7 April 1871. There is no obituary, death certificate, Will, or probate left as proof of death. She is buried with her daughter in Tolly Cemetery in Shelby County, IL. No stone was located.
