Raymond Edward Dora, 89, of East Templeton, died peacefully Wednesday February 3, 2016 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a period of declining health.

Raymond was born in Gardner, June 20, 1926, a son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Brooks) Dora, and lived in East Templeton most of his life.

Raymond proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Navy. He was a Police Officer in Templeton for 20 years, and worked at Simplex as a supervisor for 30 years. Raymond was a founder of Holy Cross Church of East Templeton. He was a life long member of the church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Raymond will be missed by his beloved wife of over 68 years Corinne A. (Meister) Dora, his son Richard Dora of Alaska, tone sister; Judith Truehart, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by one son; Bruce J. Dora in 2012, four brothers; Joseph, Robert, Conielnus, and Peter Dora,, and three sisters; Hope Nichols, Martha Dora, and Joanne Aalto.

ARRANGEMENTS:
You are invited to attend a visiting hour in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Monday February 8, 2016 from 10-11AM. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11AM. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, West St. Gardner.
