MADISON/MONONA — Mrs. John H. (Edna) Ellis, age 66, of 709 West Dean Avenue; Monona, died on Monday, May 18, 1987. She was born on May 25, 1920, in Mt. Horeb, the daughter of Orrin and Mary Baker. She was a graduate of Mt. Horeb High School. She was married to John H. Ellis on August 31, 1940, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison. She had lived in the Madison and Monona area most of her married life. Survivors include her husband, John H. "Buck" Ellis; four children, Mary L. Ellis, Jo Ann Day, Catherine L. Olson (Doug), and John P. Ellis (Patty); two granddaughters; two brothers, Alvin Baker (Virginia) of Janesville, and Merton Baker (Alice) of Mineral Point; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Beran, and Sylvia Baker; and a brother, Dr. Lee O. Baker. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 1987, with Father John Hebl officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
