SHAWANO - Mrs. Adelaide F. Daubert, 97, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at the Greentree Health Care Center in Clintonville.
Adelaide was born February 17, 1905, in Rock Hill, S.C. She was the daughter of the late William Brevard Fewell and Sarah Adeline Triplett Fewell. She grew up in Chester, S.C. and graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. in 1927.
She met her future husband, Dan Daubert, of Colfax, Wash., when she was visiting her cousin in Racine. They were married on October 8, 1932. They spent most of their adult lives in Racine, where Dan worked for the J.I. Case Company. Adelaide was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano and Racine. She was a Deacon and served on many committees in the church, was a member of the Racine Women's Club, and a member of The C.F. Chapter of P.E.O. She was a skilled gardener and loved to arrange flowers. She was an avid reader and loved playing bridge. Adelaide shared homemade Popsicles and other treats with the neighborhood children whom she greatly enjoyed while living in Racine.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Joel) Seidel of Bellevue, Wash. and Mary-Ellen (Thomas) Felts of Shawano; and two grandchildren, Charles Felts of Shawano and Elizabeth (Kevin) Brown of Issaquah, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, and William Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; an infant son; and her sister, Helen Jacocks of Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday, November 29, 2002, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Beck officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Shawano, P.O. Box 32, Shawano, Wis. 54166.
