Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday at 8:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Genevieve's Church in Elizabeth at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 10 AM-1 PM, and on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
Born in Westfield, Adeline lived there until moving to Union 58 years ago. After completing her GED, she graduated from the Nursing Program as an LPN from the Union County Vocational Technical School in 1974. Working as an LPN at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for 12 years, she retired in June of 1989. While there, she was a Patient Advocate, and often translated Italian for the medical staff.
Mrs. Albenesius was known by her colleagues and friends as "Addie'. On many memorable occasions her family and friends were delighted in her extraordinary cooking and baking.
She was a member of District 1199J, for NJ Healthcare workers and frequently attended events of WPA (Widowed Persons Activities) at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside. Adeline also was a member of AARP in Edison.
Addie was the beloved wife of the late Gervase H. Albenesius; loving mother of Edward J. of Union, NJ, Barbara of Arlington, Massachusetts, Jim and his wife Chris of Centerville, VA; grandmother of Eric, Bret and Elise; and also survived by Joan deRuiter of Asbury, NJ and her children Eric and Laura.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Amicucci; niece, Valerie Amicucci; and nephew, Officer Nicholas Amicucci (Cranford Police Dept.), and by other relatives and friends.
