Funeral services for Jerry Robert Ansley, Sr., age 69, of Buffalo, Texas are set for 2 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo. Pastors Chuck Davis and Loyd Lane will officiate and burial will follow in the Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Jerry Ansley was born in Buffalo on April 22, 1946 to Arnold Daniel Ansley, Sr. and Willie Bernice (McKnight) Ansley. Jerry lived all of his life in Buffalo and was a member of Celebration Church. He worked as a welder for Nucor Steel in Jewett and retired from there after 24 years of service. He loved to fish but, even more, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also got a lot of pleasure riding his “trike” with his wife, Mary. He told his family that riding his trike was wonderful because he could leave all of his cares behind him at the house for a while. Jerry Ansley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold D. Ansley, Jr. and Herman Mack Ansley, Jr. and by his wife of 51 years, Mary Lee Ansley. He passed away at his home on Sunday morning, February 7, 2016 surrounded by his family. Surviving family includes sons, Jerry “Robert” Ansley, Jr.and his wife, Moon, of Oklahoma and Dan Ansley and his wife, Melissa, of Buffalo; daughters, Eva Renea Ansley of Buffalo and Juanita Gail LeGalley and her husband, Lance, of Jewett; a sister, Brenda Gail Henley of Buffalo; grandchildren, Charles Daniel Ansley II, Dylan Blake Ansley, Karen Renea Avriett, Angela Marie Ansley, Robert Donald Ansley, Racheal Lynn Ansley, Kelsey Nicole Ansley and Leah Breann LeGalley and great grandchildren, Charles Blayne Ansley, Jaydn Michael Ansley, Landon Dale Avriett, Carson Blake Avriett, Dalton Lane Avriett and Audrie Faith Ansley. Pallbearers: Daniel Ansley, Dylan Ansley, Robbie Ansley, Tim Morris, J.T. Ansley and Kelly Webb. Arrangements are under the direction of Buffalo Funeral Home.
