Irene Keithley, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 06, 2016, at her residence in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Irene was born the daughter of Fred and Josie (Bummer) Keithley on December 27, 1924, in Purdin, Missouri. Irene was a 1943 graduate of Purdin High School and a graduate from Chillicothe Business College in 1944.

Irene worked for Cooke Sales and Service as a secretary for 42 years. She was a member of Jolly Janes, Red Hatters, Garden Club, a Chamber of Commerce Volunteer, a Grand River Historical Society Volunteer, and a Livingston County Library Volunteer.

She is survived by five nieces; Judy Kately and husband Harry of Trenton, Missouri; Jane McDaniels of Brookfield, Missouri; Karen Petty and husband Rick of St. Joseph, Missouri; Wanda Hoskins and special friend Jim Clemans of Linneus, Missouri; Betty Hills and husband Eldon of Portage, Indiana; two nephews David Keithley and wife Janet of Topeka, Kansas; Ronnie Keithley of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Several great nieces and nephews including two whom she took care of for many years Tiffany Moritz and fiancé Jeremy of Kansas City, Missouri and Howard Moritz and fiancé Shannon of Chillicothe, Missouri; Edwin Hills and wife Elizabeth of Valparaiso, Indiana; and great great nieces and nephews including Makayla Moritz of Kansas City, Missouri and Brennan McCracken of Kansas City, Missouri whom she helped raise, Eric Hills of Chicago, Illinois, and Matthew Hills of Valparaiso, Indiana; and great great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother’s Joseph and Woodrow Keithley, two sisters Bernice Boyles and Louise Ogle; one nephew James Keithley, and long time friend Roy Mallett.

A funeral service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2016, from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. burial will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery Linneus, MO.
