Corbett C. Coffey, 91, of Morristown passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Center following a brief illness. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Howerton’s Baptist Church. He was retired after 34 years from BASF/American Enka where he was supervisor in the instrument shop. He served on the Board of Directors and Credit Committee for Lowland Credit Union. He loved to farm and garden and was known for his tobacco crops and vegetables—especially his tomatoes. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G.B. and Louisa (Barker) Coffey, brothers, Virgil, Lester, Frank, and Donald Coffey, and sisters, Elva Wolfe and Glatha Grey.

Funeral services are planned for 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 (which would have been his 92nd birthday) at Morningside Baptist Church with Reverend Ross Woody officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 prior to the service. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
