MAPLETON- Helen M. Kennedy, 67, loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, died Feb. 2, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Presque Isle, the daughter of William and Grace (Newbegin) McEachern. She is survived by her husband, Galen Kennedy; her children and their spouses, Sharon Lafland and Kenney Dean, Galen Jr. and Susan Kennedy, and Steven and Carol Kennedy, all of Mapleton, Peggy and Rickey Carney of Ashland, and Debbie Pelkey of Presque Isle; brothers, sisters and their spouses, Laura Belyea of Houlton, Joyce and Clarence Savoy of Farmington, Marion Cockran and Wayne Green of Belgrade, Ida and Elwyn (Chum) Richardson of Castle Hill, Perley and Mae McEachern of New Brunswick and Bessie Carmichael of Caribou; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Russell McEachern; two sisters, Mildred and Barbara Tobin; and a stepbrother, Bedford McEachern. There will be no calling hours or services. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Maine Division, 1 Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
