ELLA BENEFIEL , 79, HAGARSTOWN - Ella Elizabeth Benefiel, 79, of Hagarstown died at 10:58 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 1990, in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mother of Dolors Catholic Church, Vandalia, with the Rev. Stephen Sotiroff officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia.
Mrs. Benefiel was born March 8, 1911, in Centralia, daughter of John William and Agnes Buehne Klukis. She was a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Vandalia, Gold Star Mothers and Altar Society. She married Dudley J. Benefiel on Sept. 26, 1928 in Shobonier. He died April 1, 1977.
Surviving are her son, Jack E. of Bethalto; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lynn) Stonecipher of Centralia; brothers, Otto Klukis of Danville and Charles "Shorty" Klukis of Spencer, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
One son, five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
