Dr. Gordon Pettey, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Gordon was born on February 14, 1929 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He proudly served in the United States during the Korean War, where he survived being run over by a tank. Gordon was an avid Texas History Buff and wrote many books about Texas History. He was founder, operator and author at Texas Historical Press.org, and received his Doctorate at Stephen F. Austin University. He was a great outdoorsman, full of life and loved to spend time at property in Oregon.
