Doyle Rogers was born on August 27, 1928 in Ocilla, Georgia, the son of Dwight Laing Rogers (1886–1954) and Florence (Roberts) Rogers (1890–1994). {Both Doyle's brother Paul Grant Rogers and their father Dwight Laing Rogers were members of the US House of Representatives from Florida.}
He was a former chairman of Palm Beach, Florida's Charter Review Commission and its Architectural Commission, president of the Town of Palm Beach United Way and former chairman and chairman emeritus of the Palm Beach Civic Association. He was also a trustee of The Society of the Four Arts, director and former president of the Palm Beach membership of Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation and a former member of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission of the Southern District of Florida. And, he was a senior warden of the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea.
Doyle practiced in wills, estates and trusts, banking law, general commercial and corporate law. And, said the town's Mayor Gail Coniglio, "He treated kings or door people exactly the same - with respect."
He was married 1st on June 12, 1970 in Palm Beach as the 2nd husband of Nicola Christine (Chapman) (Williamson) Rogers (12 Jan 1940-6 Oct 1989), the daughter of Richard "Dick" Chapman and Dorothy (Hollaway) (Chapman) Pearsall. {Nicola had been previously married, had two children and was later divorced.} Doyle was married 2nd on May 18, 1991 in Palm Beach to Barbara Elizabeth Massey (1938– ).
Doyle retired in December 2014 after 59 years with the law firm Alley, Maass, Rogers & Lindsay.
A resident of West Palm Beach, he was 87 years old when he passed away on January 24, 2016.
Preceded in death by his 1st wife, he was survived by his 1nd wife, two married sons, three married daughters and nine grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.
