"Shirley Ann Reese, 72 years, of Fremont, NE died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. Shirley Ann was born May 28, 1943 in Tilden, NE the daughter of William and Eileen (Zauner) Brozek. She attended Pleasant Valley Grade School District 114 and graduated from Tilden High School, Class of 1960. She graduated from St. Joseph Nursing School in Omaha as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Shirley worked at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO in the ICU where she met the love of her life.
On September 11, 1965, Shirley was united in marriage to Wendell F. Reese at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Tilden. The couple resided in Colorado Springs, CO from 1962 to 1973, where Wendell was stationed at the U.S. Air Force Academy. They lived in Orlando, FL from 1973 to 1974, then Las Vegas, NV for 3 years before moving to Fremont in 1977. Shirley worked for a general surgeon for 25 years and then did home care for many years.
Shirley was always compassionate to everyone and most fond of and kept in close contact with her 1960 Tilden High School classmates. She was also very appreciative and grateful to all friends she was acquainted with.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Women in Fremont.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Wendell of Fremont; son, William Reese of New Market, VA; brother, Robert Brozek of Los Angeles, CA; and 3 grandchildren, Kathryn Mae, Tyler David and Kayla Ann Reese.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Brozek.
FREMONT Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM, Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Ronald Battiato will officiate. Rosary/Vigil Service will be at 7 PM, Sunday, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Sunday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM all at the funeral home.
TILDEN Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM., Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Tilden. The Rev. Father Christopher Onuoha will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 11AM prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tilden."
